FIFTEENTH ROUGH RAIDER REUNION
(Updated 23 April, 2008)

Here is the latest information on our next reunion.

The 2008 Rough Raiders’ Reunion is fast approaching!  This year we would like to extend to all of you a warm welcome to the great state of Maine!
For the Fifteenth Rough Raiders Reunion, we have chosen the beautiful scenic coastal town of Ogunquit, Maine.  Our reunion headquarters will be the Meadowmere Resort in the heart of Ogunquit.
The Meadowmere Resort is holding rooms at $99.95/per night + tax (continental breakfast included).  You can reserve your room by calling The Meadowmere Reservation desk at 800-633-8718 or (207) 646-9661.  Simply identify yourself with the 500th Bomb Squadron Association to receive the discounted rates. Those of you that have internet access can visit the resort’s informative web page at www.meadowmere.com and view the amenities that will be at your disposal.

In addition to the wide variety of amenities offered at the resort itself, the Ogunquit area features many restaurants, shops, beaches, scenic vistas and other attractions within easy walking distance or accessible via trolley bus.  The local trolley bus leaves from the resort every 15 minutes to all area attractions.
Guest can arrive via any one of three area airports.

Portland Jetport (Portland, ME): 35 Miles North
Manchester Airport (Manchester, NH): 60 Miles West
Logan Airport (Boston, MA): 75 Miles South

The  closest airport is Portland Jetport (PWM).  http://www.portlandjetport.org . This is served by Delta, JetBlue, and many others.  Manchester Airport (MHT) is serviced by South West Airlines and most of the major carriers.  Transportation to and from the airports will be up to the guests.  Taxies, rental cars and Limo Services are available at each of the airports; however, there are no scheduled bus or shuttle services between the area airports and Ogunquit, ME.  (Limo Ride Sharing is recommended as the most economical option.).

We have plenty of surprises in store, and things for you to see and do.  Events planned to date are:
Sept. 2nd:  Bus trip to Freeport, Maine home of the world famous L.L. Bean for a day of shopping. Lots of area shops, restaurants and outlet stores to choose from. (Lunch on your own).
Sept. 3rd: Sea Cruise!  with “First Chance Whale Watch” out of Kennebunkport, Maine. Come and join us as we explore Maine’s nautical heritage on a three hour cruise along the beautiful Maine Coast as we go in search of humpback whales!
1940’s USO Style Hangar Dance/Gathering – Come join us for food, fun, and big band music as we travel back in time at the Sanford Airport, in Sanford, Maine.
Sept. 4th Closing banquet - Jonathan’s Restaurant – right next door to the Meadowmere Resort is the award winning Jonathan’s Restaurant!  Come join us for some Maine “lobstah” Keynote Speaker – TBA.
